Covid-19 Emergency Appeal
More than ever, we need your help.
Comfort, touch, togetherness: these are among the key elements of hospice care — the kind of care offered at the end of one’s life. These same principles are also in direct opposition to the distance and separation asked of us during a pandemic. Yet hospice, available to those with a life expectancy of six months or fewer, remains an essential branch of medical care.
As a charity we are already under great financial pressures. The outbreak of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) only adds further pressure, as we’ve lost the ability to generate sustainable income streams overnight, this will severely impact on our limited financial resources. The reduction in income could have a devastating impact on our ability to continue caring for the thousands of local people who rely on our services annually.
As a charity, we rely almost entirely on the donations and generosity of you, our local community.
Sadly, following the cancellation and postponement of our fundraising activities, we are now anticipating a loss of income in excess of $50,000. Even at this very difficult time, Laurel Hospice remains fully operational, and our community team are working tirelessly 24/7 to support local patients and families at the hardest, most difficult time in their lives.
To try and mitigate the financial impact of Coronavirus on Laurel Hospice and our Foundation, and continue to provide additional services to palliative care, we’re asking you to support us in our emergency appeal. Every little bit does help!
Thank you again and our warmest wishes to you and your families during these challenging and unprecedented times.
